Corona Warriors waiting for 13 years for demands to be fulfilled

SRINAGAR, Aug 16: For the past 13 years or so pharmacists considered to be Corona Warriors have been running from pillar to post so as to fulfill their demands, but there has been no light at the end of the tunnel for them so far.
It was in this regard a delegation of Jammu & Kashmir Government Pharmacists Association (JKGPA) called on Financial Commissioner Health & Medical Education, Atal Dulloo on August 14. The deputation presented the charter of demands to Dulloo and hoped that their demands would be fulfilled soon.
The demands put forward include conducting of Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) August 17 with a member being nominated from administrative department for conducting of DPC in favour of pharmacists.
Up-gradation of Block Pharmacy Officer & District Pharmacy Officer as the finance department has agreed in principle in 2007 as per finance department U.O No. A/66/98-1196 dated 11-2-2007.
Up-gradation of sub-centres to the level of NTPHC`S vide Cabinet Decision No. 190/14/2014 dated 16-10-2014 and creation of posts awaited in favour of pharmacists in all the new NTPHC’s and new district hospitals as they are without supervisors and head pharmacists. Fresh registration as pharmacists in favour of all pharmacists/ medical assistants working in Health/FW/ISM/NHM & Medical Education departments by J&K Pharmacy Council on priority basis.
Release of 10 percent incentive in favour of pharmacists and employees working in Health/FW/ISM/NHM and medical education departments as same has been implemented by the Director Health Services Ladakh vide order No. DHS/COVID-19/1296-301 dated 31-7-2020. Disposal of time bound cases and SRO-43 cases pending in DHSK and administrative department without further delay.
The Financial Commissioner Health & Medical Education Department commended the role of health professionals (pharmacists) and all employees during their fight against COVID-19 pandemic.
He lauded their dedication & honesty while discharging their duties & assured the association leaders that the grievances of the pharmacists will be resolved on top priority.
The JKGPA was led by its President Sheikh Mehraj-ud-din and it included members like Pir Abdul Rasheed, Bashir Ahmad Bhat, Mohammad Saleem Wani, Mohammad Ilyas Ganie, Manzoor Ahmad Ganie, Iqbal Hameed and Abdul Hameed Magray.
