COVID-19 vaccines on way
8/19/2020 12:10:32 AM

Union Health Ministry is trying to rebuild the shattered confidence of people by sharing the details of the COVID-19 patients who have recovered since the outbreak of the pandemic in the country since March this year.
According the ministry recovery rate has surpassed 70% mark and after the vaccine becomes available things will improve further. Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his Independence Day speech from the ramparts of Red Fort had assured the nation that three COVID-19 vaccines are on the way and people need not worry.
The government has lifted the lockdown restrictions to a great extent and life has started limping back to normal but the fear of COVID-19 is still prevailing. Everyone is aware of the fact that virus is still present within the community and anyone can get infected. Despite lockdown being lifted the buzz is missing from the markets. Everyone is eagerly waiting for the vaccine to come. In Jammu and Kashmir COVID-19 cases have crossed 28000 mark, of which more than 21000 people have recovered while, 7048 are active positive and 548 have died; 41 in Jammu division and 507 in Kashmir division. Compared to Kashmir death rate in Jammu region has been low, even the number of positive cases have been lesser. People of Jammu region have shown tremendous discipline and have set an example. Even the officials have gone on record to say that Jammuities have followed the COVID norms in letter and spirit. In Kashmir situation has remained uncertain due to people not following the COVID protocol properly. In the initial months people in Kashmir refused to divulge their travel history which created havoc. Administration in Kashmir had to work overtime to trace the contact of travelers and by the time people realized the gravity of the situation it was too late. Experts and medicos are assuring people that the vaccine has already been prepared and it’s just a matter of time. They are of the opinion that the vaccine is the only solution in a country like India which has got a huge population. Schools, colleges and other educational institutions are likely to remain closed till the vaccination campaign commences as no parent would like to take a chance with the life of his ward. Entire world has faced a tough time during the past six months but the new dawn has already broken out and the clouds of gloom are thinning out slowly.
