| GDC Darhal organises National Quiz on Urdu Marsiya | | |

Darhal, Aug 18: A National Level Quiz on the topic “Shumali Hind Mein Urdu Mersiya” was organised by Department of Urdu, Govt Degree College Darhal here today. Principal of the College, Prof. Sumanesh Jasrotia appreciated the efforts of Dr. Imtiaz Shah HoD Urdu of the College in organizing a mega event in which 157 participants took part in the competition. He said that the College faculty is providing every opportunity to the students to make up their deficiency by organizing such competitions. He also told that the number of students opting for Urdu is more in a college like Darhal and such an exposure to the students shall definitely be fruitful and also a golden opportunity to compete with the students of other states of the country.
Dr. Imtiaz Shah, the Organizing Secretary of National Quiz told that the participants from JNU, Delhi University, University of Hyderabad, Baba Ghulam Shah University, Central University of Jammu, Jammu University and so many other Universities of the country took part in the competition. He said that the response of the students was overwhelming.
He also told that the Urdu Mersiya has more significance during these changing times as it teaches brotherhood and humanity. It was a golden opportunity to the students to learn about such an ethical topic. Faculty members, Dr. Ahsan Ul Rahman and Dr. Ather Aziz Raina wholeheartedly co-operated in organizing the event and making it a success. |
