Jammu, Aug 18: Citicen's Forum welcomed the beautification and renovation of Jhajjar Kotli beautiful picnic spot by the Director Tourism Jammu.
As a demand being entertained after a long time of decades, there are many requirements for making it a real beautifull tourist spot for Jammu people as well as Vaishno Devi pilgrims which can add to the economy of the rural area.
R K Chadha President of the forum request LG Manoj Sinha that they had demanded a small barrage constructed with 3-4 ft high to create a small lake type water body to add to the beauty of the place as it can be created with very small amount. “There is a natural short space available for the barrage. But the engineers of the National Highway are opposing it siting an assumed danger to the Bridge. Our members Retd. Chief Engineers have suggested a alternate proposal should be taken up with NH authorities for its clearance”, he added. “A balancing reservoir about 1000 ft upstream and 200 ft downstream from existing guest house structure of about 300 to 400 ft width in existing river bed with 3 to 4 ft at downstream and 0 to 1 ft at upstream in size will not pose any risk to the existing bridge in the vicinity. This will be a small reservoir in the existing river bed without much water accumulation. The matter should be taken up with NH authorities”, he added. |
