DDC Ramban inspects progress on Banihal-Qazigund tunnel

RAMBAN, Aug 18: District Development Commissioner (DDC), Nazim Zai Khan, accompanied by senior officers and representatives of construction agencies, today visited Banihal and inspected Four Laning work along the Ramban-Banihal section of National Highway.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Haseeb –Ur- Rehman; SDM, Zaheer Abass; Tehsildar and representatives of construction agency accompanied him during the visit.
He also inspected the construction work of 8.5 Km long Banihal to Quazigund double tube road tunnel. He inquired about the status of work from the executing agency NAVYUGA Construction Company.
The representatives of the Construction Company apprised the DDC about the bottlenecks hindering the progress of construction work. The DDC resolved most of the issues on the spot and gave necessary directions to officers in this regard.
He also inspected the relocation work of HT line along NH-44 and directed the concerned agencies to complete the same in prescribed time, so that the work is completed unhindered.
Later, the DDC also interacted with the locals at Banihal and listened to their grievances.
Responding to the issues raised by the public, he assured them that nobody would be allowed to misuse the social media to hurt religious sentiments of any community and breach the peace in the society. He assured that culprits would be dealt with iron hand under law.
He appealed to the public to use social media with responsibility and not to pay heed to the rumours. He passed on the spot directions to the concerned departments to intensify the development process in coordination with locals besides redressing their genuine demands on priority basis.
The People thanked the DDC and other senior officers of administration for conducting regular visits in the area to listen and resolve their problems.
