| Awareness camp on labour welfare schemes held | | |

DODA, Aug 28: An awareness camp on labour laws was organized today, which was attended by the Chairman Municipal Committee and other elected members and Executive Officer of the civic body.
The participants were made aware about the various labour laws enacted for the protection of legal rights of the workers by the government. The welfare schemes meant for the unorganised sector workers particularly for building and other construction workers were also discussed. Assistant Labour Commissioner, Ghanshyam Basotra, informed that the registration of construction workers is being conducted on fast track basis under the Mission Mode project launched by the government through labour department. He appealed the MC members to aware the workers and facilitate their registration by online mode on website *www.jkbocwb.gov.in, so that they can avail the benefits of the welfare schemes launched by the J&K building and other construction workers welfare board.
Further, the Assistant Labour Commissioner also discussed and made the participants aware about the pension scheme launched by the government of India for the unorganized workers like, Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Mandhan pension scheme and Pradhan Mantri Vyapari Maan Dhan Yojana.
The members were appealed to make aware the public/employers to avoid the employment of Child Labour in any occupation as well as domestic helper and help to make child labour free society and use CHILDLINE help line 1098 to report such acts. |
