Ramnagar, Aug 29: On day 7th, the one-week workshop on “Career Awareness and Role of Physical Education for Healthy Lifestyle” concluded.
Mukesh Sharma, organizing secretary of the workshop, hosted the session. Dr. Udhey Bhanu, Principal, GDC, Ramnagar welcomed the chief guest Rashid Haroon and guest speaker of the session Rakesh Kumar. Rashid Haroon is a DD national sports anchor, commentator and has been hosting sports hour (Sports Bulletin & Discussion Show) on DD Sports for last seven years.
Rashid Haroon has also been associated with marquee events like Asian Games, commonwealth games, Salwan Marathon etc. and has done sports commentary for prestigious events such as IPL, T-20 & ODI World Cup.
The guest speaker Rakesh Kumar is a former sports officer MPPSC and working assistant professor in U.P Higher Education Department. Rakesh Kumar has a great hold on research and has various International and National papers. The guest speaker spoke on the topic of “Awards and policies to promote physical education and sports”. Various awards such as Rajiv Gandhi, Dharonacharya, Dhyanchand National Awards, Medal and Extraordinary cash prize was discussed by the guest speaker for promotion and recognition of outstanding talent in the field of sports.
Rakesh Kumar also elaborated on the policies by sports authority of India for promotion and development of sports.
