JKTA holds virtual meet, raise issues of teachers

JAMMU, Aug 31: A virtual meeting of JK Teachers Association was held under the chairmanship of its UT President, Bhupinder Singh.
Number of Teachers from across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir participated in the meeting.
While speaking on the occasion, Bhupinder Singh raised the issues of Left out ReTs who haven't been promoted to Teachers Grade ll/lll. He demanded the promotion of left out ReTs since they and their families have been suffering for long.
Singh sought the implementation of Transfer Policy in favour of Grade ll/lll and 3rd Teachers, Restoration of old pension scheme in favour of Teachers Grade ll/lll who were engaged before January 1, 2010 as ReTs, Implementation of 7th Pay Commission benefits in favour of Teachers Grade ll/lll from the year 2016 and Inclusion of initial Five years Service for seniority benefits vide Govt order no.469 of 2014.
He also highlighted the issue of Conversion of Head Teachers (SSA) Posts to Non-Plan Master Posts So that Salary issue of Head Teachers would be resolved and demanded the DPC of Teachers to Masters which has not been done since February 2014.
Bhupinder urged upon the Lieutenant Governor Of J&K that Teachers under Grade ll/lll have been working in the Education Department for the last 17 Years and are trained enough.
“IMPACT Training should be applicable to refreshers and if necessary then should be for all teachers of all grades but not for only Grade ll/lll Teachers,” he asserted.
Singh appealed to Principal Secretary School Education and Director School Education Jammu to resolve all mentioned issues of the Teaching Fraternity so as to put an end to their sufferings.
Bhupinder Singh concluded the meeting by appealing all the teachers to join hands with the J&K Teachers Association to strengthen it so that the aforesaid issues would be redressed.
Others who were present in the meeting included Senior Vice President Akhtar Abbas Naik, Provincial President Pawan Kumar Verma, Chief Advisor Vikas Khajuria, Organiser Liaquit Chowdhary, Provincial Vice President Tirath Singh, Media Publicity Secretary Pardeep Choudhary, Coordinator Sunil Salaria, Finance Secretary Sanjeev Guleria, District President Rajouri Mohd Mahroof, District President Udhampur Sudesh Kumar, Dhruv Singh, Sunil Bhardwaj,Vikram Singh, Mehboob Alam,Sachin Sharmar, Joginder Singh, Nasib Chand, Uttam Singh, Jameer Singh, Ashraf Ch, Sadiq Poswal and Keshav Singh.
