| PSP seeks LG’s intervention in journalist harassment case of Kathua | | |  Early Times Report
Kathua, Aug 31: Progressive Samajwadi Party State President Surendra Singh demanded a high-level inquiry into a fabricated case framed against a journalist by Kathua Police. Addressing journalists, Surendra Singh said that if there is anything strongest in the democracy of a great country like India, then it is freedom of the press. But such incidents have been happening in Kathua for the last few days, which seem to be an attempt to suppress the press. He said that a case in Kathua city was also taken up by the press. In which the allegations leveled against the father-daughter relationship on the police officers were also brought out. But the police registered a case under the conspiracy on the part of the press. He asked the district police chief to investigate the matter honestly instead of protecting his department. He appealed to the Lieutenant Governor and said that there should be a high-level inquiry into the matter. He said that his party fully supports the press and calls not to attempt to suppress the freedom of the press and if it does, the mass movement will be intensified in protest.
