Early Times Report

NAGROTA, Aug 31: Block Development Council Chairperson, Nagrota Choudhry Rehmat Ali today asserted that the resolve of the people will not break over the demand for resumption of Degree College, saying “We won’t allow the machinations of vested interests to succeed as it concerns the future of our children who want to pursue higher education.”
Interacting with the prominent citizens of Nagrota Assembly Constituency, who had staged sit-in-dharna here, the BDC Chairperson expressed anguish over muteness of the administration for the past over one month and said nobody seems to be bothered about parents protesting in incessant rains and humid monsoon days.
“The lackadaisical administrative approach speaks volumes about seriousness in the governance and negates the tall claims of the of making available education at door steps, especially in rural and far-off areas”, Choudhry Rehmat Ali said at the dharna site, organized by Nagrota Sangarash Samiti.
He again urged the concerned department to come up clear on the project, as the construction of the college complex had been flagged as a priority project. Any further delay will demoralize the student community, who want level fields to compete with their counterparts in other semi urban and urban areas, he added. Prominent among those present on the occasion included Pt. Rameshwar Dutt, Ex- Sarpanch, Ch. Hamid, Kulbushan Singh, Sanjay Sharma, Ravi Singh, Ashok Thakur, Sham Lal Sharma, Joginder Lal, Vijay Sharma, Rattan Lal, Madan Lal, Chaman Lal, Rakesh Sharma , Poli Devi, Sunita Devi, Jyoti, Pritam Singh, Tarsem Lal and others.
