TNWS delegation calls on XEn PDD, rues over power scenario
9/4/2020 11:05:49 PM
Early Times Report

JAMMU, Sept 4: A delegation of Trikuta Nagar Welfare Society (TNWS), led by its President, Rajinder Kakkar met Executive Engineer, Maintenance PDD here and expressed resentment over the power shortage being faced by the residents of Trikuta Nagar area.
The delegation apprised the Executive Engineer Maintenance that there has been no improvement witnessed in the electric supply running on feeder JDA-5 through Receiving Station JDA complex near Panama Chowk feeding Sectors 5, 7, 8 and 9 of Trikuta Nagar. They raised serious concern over the unscheduled power cuts in the areas and demanded stabilization of power supply on the feeder.
“A threadbare discussion was held regarding the electricity supply issue and several options, possibilities and suggestions were also explored for uninterrupted and stabilized power supply to the areas. It was informed that the proposal put forward by the Executive Engineer to provide temporary relief by laying 4.3 km line on weasel conductor and installation of 52 no isolators costing Rs 17.10 lakhs is unviable in the meantime,” Kakkar said.
The Executive Engineer proposed an alternate solution and informed that 10 MVA and 33/11 KV Receiving Station RBI Chowk are under construction and will be completed by November 2020, these will provide relief to the people. Since JDA-5 shall not be executing further works in the areas, the power supply shall be fed through new RBI 33/11 KV Receiving Station, he added.
The Executive Engineer further informed that by November this year, Trikuta Nagar will get uninterrupted power supply. “By November-2020, the challenges and hurdles in smooth power supply will be erased on a permanent basis and finding a temporary solution wouldn’t be feasible,” he said.
Rajinder Kakkar said that after a long time they can expect improvement in the power supply by November-2020 till the completion of aforesaid works. TNWS members said that the unnecessary government expenditure of Rs 17.10 lakhs shall be covered in the existing scheme.
Neeraj Puri, President BJP Gandhi Nagar Mandal said that in coming months the load of air conditioners would also be released and that will eventually reduce the power load.
Technical Team, retired Chief Engineer PDD, Ashok Kumar Arora and Executive Engineer, Varinder Suri were present in the meeting.
