Article 370 stands scrapped, it can’t be brought back: PDP youth leader
‘Kashmiri politicians need to tell truth to people’
9/5/2020 12:12:19 AM
Early Times Report

Anantnag, Sept 4: PDP youth Leader Imran Amin Shah on Thursday said that youth in Kashmir were least bothered about the restoration of Articles 370 and 35-A.
“I am in touch with youth and we hold weekly meetings but the issue of restoration of Article 370 and 35-A isn’t even being discussed,” Imran Amin Shah, who is coordinator of PDP’s Youth Wing in South Kashmir, told Early Times over Phone.
Imran said that youngsters in Kashmir want the government to address the growing problem of unemployment. “Youth are concerned about unemployment and they are looking for employment opportunities. I am in touch with people and they are ready to work for the nation and contribute in nation building,” he said, adding people were voluntarily visiting revenue offices and getting their domicile certificates.
He said that people in Jammu and Kashmir particularly in Kashmir region had pinned high hopes with People’s Democratic Party and youngsters were optimistic about positive changes the party had promised before coming into power.
“I joined PDP in 2002 when I was studying in class 12th. Late Mufti Mohammad Syeed impressed me as after taking over as the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir he really worked hard for bringing peace and prosperity, however after his death the PDP deviated from its track,” Imran said.
He said that mainstream political parties led by the National Conference have again started befooling Kashmiris. “Everyone knows who revoked the special position of Jammu and Kashmir and they know it was revoked because of the faults of political parties who ruled the erstwhile state. Slogans like Gupkar Declaration have been coined to mislead Kashmiris again,” he said, adding youth in particular have accepted the decisions’ Central Government took last year.
Shah said that the Central Government should give space to youngsters and all those national leaders who have good reputation and haven’t looted Kashmiris, and are willing to tell the truth to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
“The Article 370 stands scrapped and can’t be brought back. This is the truth and must be told to the people,” he added.
