Contractor alleges corruption in Vijaypur, Ramgarh block offices
Urges LG to intervene, release pending payments

VIJAYPUR, Sep 4: Alleging corrupt practices being employed by the officials of Block Development Offices Vijaypur and Ramgarh, a contractor said that the payments against the works executed by him are still pending for the last about four years due to the unethical attitude of the staff of these two block level administrative offices.
Addressing a press conference here today, contractor Tarsem Lal leveled serious allegations of corruption on the officials of Block Development Office (BDO) Vijaypur and Block Development Office, Ramgarh.
Tarsem Lal said that he supplied the building material, labour and also performed the job as mate during the financial year 2015-16, 2016-17 and 2017-18 for the construction of building of Training Centre by the Rural Development Department at Vijaypur.
He said that the building is being utilized by the department since last four years but the department has not cleared the pending bills so far. Lal further said that he had also supplied the building material, labour and also performed job as mate for the construction of CFC Centre Bakha Chak of Ramgarh Block, the bills of those works are also still pending.
He alleged that corrupt technical wing as well as subordinate staff of Executive Engineer, REW Samba and Block Development Officer, Vijaypur and Block Development Officer, Ramgarh are openly demanding the bribe for releasing the amount the pending bills. He said that Block Development Office Vijaypur, Block Development Office Ramgarh, and Executive Engineer, REW Samba is functioning as hub of corruption. He urged the Lieutenant Governor of J&K UT to take a serious note of the issue and initiate action against the corrupt nexus and requested to direct the officials to release the pending bills so that he can liquidate his liabilities.
