SRINAGAR, Oct 12: The COVID-19 recovery rate in the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reached 86.52 percent after 861 virus affected patients were discharged from different hospitals today. The positive cases reached 84,031 after 398 fresh cases with the death toll being 1333 following 11 fresh deaths.
Jammu district reported 113 fresh cases of Corona Virus followed by Srinagar district 106 cases, Budgam district 38 cases, Baramulla and Kupwara districts 21 cases each, Ganderbal district 13 cases, Pulwama and Poonch districts 12 cases each, Samba district 11 cases, Anantnag and Bandipora districts 10 cases each, Shopian, Rajouri, Udhampur and Kathua districts seven cases each and Kulgam, Doda & Ramban districts one case each.
Jammu and Srinagar districts each reported three fresh deaths of COVID-19 followed by a death each in Pulwama, Anantnag, Bandipora, Poonch and Doda districts. So far 899 people have died due to Corona Virus in Kashmir with the number of such deaths in Jammu division being 434.
The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 398 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 159 from Jammu division and 239 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 84,031. Also 11 COVID-19 deaths have been reported; five from Jammu division and six from Kashmir Division.
Moreover, 861 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 535 from Jammu Division and 326 from Kashmir Division.
Out of 84,031 positive cases, 9,992 are active positive, 72,706 have recovered and 1,333 have died; 434 in Jammu division and 899 in Kashmir division.
Out of 18, 54,486 test results available, 17, 70,455 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 6, 15,610 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 25,024 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 9,992 in isolation and 49,240 in home surveillance. Besides, 5, 30,021 persons have completed their surveillance period.
The bulletin said that Srinagar has 16,756 positive cases, 1,689 active positive, 14,748 recovered, 319 deaths; Budgam has 5,437 positive cases, 691 active positive, 4,657 recovered, 89 deaths; Baramulla has 4,910 positive cases, 1,483 active positive, 3,297 recovered, 130 deaths; Pulwama has 4,247 positive cases, 261 active positive, 3,912 recovered, 74 deaths; Kupwara has 3,926 positive cases, 621 active positive, 3,235 recovered, 70 deaths.
“Anantnag has 3,801 positive cases, 382 active positive, 3,349 recovered, 70 deaths; Bandipora has 3,696 positive cases, 344 active positive, 3,310 recovered, 42 deaths; Ganderbal has 3,168 positive cases, 257 active positive, 2,881 recovered, 30 deaths; Kulgam has 2,340 positive cases, 83 active positive, 2,214 recovered, 43 deaths and Shopian has 2,101 positive cases, 108 active positive, 1,961 recovered, 32 deaths,” reads the bulletin.
The bulletin said that Jammu has 15,381 positive cases, 1,343 active positive, 13,813 recovered, 225 deaths; Rajouri has 2,994 positive cases, 422 active positive, 2,529 recovered, 43 deaths; Udhampur has 2,500 positive cases, 204 active positive, 2,273 recovered, 23 deaths; Doda has 2,388 positive cases, 509 active positive, 1,839 recovered, 40 deaths; Kathua has 2,273 positive cases, 115 active positive, 2,129 recovered, 29 deaths.
“Poonch has 2,017 positive cases, 672 active positive, 1,323 recovered, 22 deaths; Samba has 1,989 positive cases, 384 active positive, 1,581 recovered, 24 deaths; Kishtwar has 1,520 positive cases, 148 active positive, 1361 recovered, 11 deaths; Ramban has 1,453 positive cases, 96 active positive, 1,346 recovered, 11 deaths; Reasi has 1,134 positive cases, 180 active positive, 948 recovered, six deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 84,031 positive cases in J&K, 9,201 have been reported as travelers.
The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.
