Early Times Report

Samba, Oct 18: The COVID-19 pandemic has induced a lot of fear, worry and concern in the population causing three types of diseases: body disease, mind disease and nervous system disease. Yoga scriptures say that the mind is the cause of both bondage and liberation. So first we must give medicine to the mind. With this intention, Govt. Degree College, Vijaypur organized a ‘Five Days Fitness Fiesta’. On the 1st day online classes of Yoga for beginners were conducted as yoga is like music: the rhythm of the body, the melody of the mind and the harmony of the soul which creates the symphony of life. On the 2nd day, Therapeutic Yoga classes were organized for building immunity, improving respiration and blood circulation, maintaining metabolism etc thereby improving health of an individual.
On the 3rd day, webinar on Yoga beyond Aches and Pains: A yogic approach to mental health was conducted, for yoga is not a work-out but it is a work-in. On the 4th Day, Aerobics session was conducted. Aerobics are physical exercises that are intended to increase all elements of fitness.
These exercises reduce blood pressure and prevents clogging of the blood vessels.
