Residents of Domana flay PHE Deptt on water pipes’ leakage

Jammu, Oct 18: People of Domana are facing hardship these days as they are not getting proper drinking water as the pipelines has developed leaks and thousand of liters of water is getting wasted courtesy National Highway Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd. (NHIDCL) and the officials of the company engaged in widening project of Jammu Akhnoor road.
As the work of the road is in progress the company engaged in the project has uprooted the Pipelines at Many Places.
At Domana near Mandir company has uprooted the pipeline feeding the local populace. For last ten days people have been requesting the officials of the company engaged in the road widening project to plug the leakage but all in vain. Every time officials gave a excuse that their welder is on leave.
On one side the people are getting limited water supply due to the strike of the daily wagers of the PHE. People are getting water on alternate days but due to leakage this water is flowing along the road and the officials of the company are least bothered to plug these leaks.
Now people have requested to the D C Jammu to look into the matter and order the officials of the NHIDCl and the Contractor engaged in the road widening project to plug the leaks so that people could get the potable water said Jugal Kishor a local .
