| Director Agriculture monitors DSR method paddy crop in Marh | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct, 30: Director Agriculture Jammu Inderjeet along with the Chief Agriculture Officer Jammu Arvinder Singh Reen, Sub Divisional Agriculture Officer Marh Dr Ashwani Kumar Jojra today visited Zone Pouni Chak.
During his visit, the Director monitored Paddy crop variety Pusa 1121 sown by Direct Seeded Rice (DSR) method by farmer named Rajinder Bakshi, son of Ragunandan Bakshi of Sari Rakwalan who sown this paddy crop in two hectare land by DSR Technique and witnessed marvelous and encouraging results saving time, energy, resources, finance, labour with favourable economics upto 35 % .
The Director Agriculture, during his presidential address appreciated the performance of all officers who were committed for this intervention and also assured full support to the farmers. Chief Agriculture Officer Jammu, Dr Reen, while presenting welcome address expressed his team's commitment to bring marvelous results in future as per the guidelines and directions of higher authorities. Dr Ashwani Jojra, Sub Divisional Agriculture Officer Marh while conducting the proceedings of the field day programme presented key note address regarding farmer Welfare initiatives to strengthen farmers' ideology. All the progressive farmers and PRI members appreciated the efforts of agriculture department after visiting the field of Direct Seeded Rice - DSR.
The programme was managed by Tirath Singh AEO Pouni Chak with the cooperation of all staff members of the zone. All the JAEOs and AEAs and input staff members were also present. |
