| Horticulture Deptt fails to fill posts of HDOs in Harni, Balakote | | | MS NAZKI

MENDHAR, Oct 30: Two gazetted posts of Horticulture Development Officers (HDOs) at Harni and Balakote in Sub-Division Mendhar are lying vacant for quite some time but the department has failed to fill the vacancies due to which the smooth functioning of the Horticulture Department in far-flung areas of Poonch district is getting severely affected.
While the HDO for Harni has not been deputed for the last eight months, the same post at Balakote is lying vacant for almost four years.
Due to this administrative lapse, the charges of these vacant posts have been given additionally to HDO, Mendhar, Mohd Rafiq, who is unnecessarily overburdened over and above his assigned official duty.
Fruit Growers of Harni and Balakote said that the due to the unavailability of the HDOs they are not able to convey their problems as well as not getting the latest updates, programmes and schemes of the department. They demanded that the concerned higher authorities should fill the posts of Horticulture Development Officers at the earliest. |
