3 militant associates of LeT, HM outfits arrested in Kashmir valley

SRINAGAR, Oct 30: Three militant associates of LeT and HM outfits were arrested today at two separate places in Kashmir valley on Friday, arms and ammunition have been also recovered from their possession.
According to police spokesperson that, Handwara Police along with 21RR and 92Bn CRPF have arrested two militant associates linked with proscribed terror outfit Lashkar-e Toiba (LeT) in Handwara area of north Kashmir.
On specific inputs, checkpoints were established at different locations in town Handwara.
During checking at Chinar Park Handwara two persons while riding on a bike bearing registration number JK09B-1827 were intercepted and apprehended by the search party when they tried to escape from the spot, said police spokesperson.
He said that the arrested militant associates have been identified as Liyakat Ahmad Mir son of Abdul Ahad Mir and Aqib Rashid Mir son of Abdul Rashid Mir both residents of Hayan Trehgam Kupwara.
Arms and ammunition have been recovered from their possession. All the recovered materials have been taken into case records for further investigation.
As per police records they were involved in providing shelter, logistic and other support to the active LeT terrorists besides assisting them in transporting arms & ammunition to South Kashmir.
In this connection a case vide FIR No. 363/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Handwara and further investigation has been initiated.
However, police spokesperson further said that, Awantipora Police along with security forces have arrested one militant associate linked with proscribed terror outfit HM in Awantipora.
The arrested militant associate has been identified as Firdous Ahmad Dar resident of Dangerpora Noorpora area of Awantipora.
Incriminating materials including arms and ammunition have been recovered from his possession. All the recovered materials have been taken into case records for further investigation.
As per police records he was involved in providing shelter, logistics and other support to the active HM militants besides transporting arms & ammunition in Awantipora and Tral area.
In this connection a case vide FIR No. 153/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Awantipora and further investigation has been initiated.
