| Drug peddler nabbed with heroin in Mendhar | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 2: A drug peddler was nabbed with contraband of heroin in Mendhar tehsil of Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir. Police sources here said that on specific information joint teams of police and army established a nakka near Government Degree College and during checking one person identified as Karan Dutta,24, of Dharana, was intercepted and during frisking three packets were recovered from his possession. They said that the packets weighed around 2.5 kg having narcotics (Heroin) from the possesion of the drug peddlers. A case under NDPS Act was registered and investigation started.
Police said that the possibility of consignment being smuggled from across the border cannot be ruled out and investigation is going on to ascertain the backward and forwarded linkages. “This is the third major recovery of narcotics in last few days by police,” police added. |
