SSP holds interactive meet with Press Club office bearers

Kathua, Nov 2: Senior Superintendent of Police Kathua Dr. Shailendra Mishra (IPS) today held an interaction with the office bearers & members of Press Club Kathua.
The meet was attended by President of Press Club Kathua, Sanjay Pathak and other office bearers. During the meet discussions were held on the issue of participation of journalists in the upcoming DDC elections and various problems faced by journalists while discharging their professional duties.
Lauding the efforts to organize such meetings, President of Press Club, Sanjay Pathak raised several issues being confronted by the journalist fraternity. He said that during the conduct of elections, the journalists have to face problems at the voting booths and on many occasions, police officials adopt pick and choose policy, which should be discouraged. Speaking on the occasion General Secretary Harpreet Sethi said that some people have been misusing the name of media. “Pasting the Press sticker on the vehicles, people have been smuggling polythene and alcohol in these vehicles, which should be properly investigate and action should be taken against the violators”, he said.
Chairman Manuj Kesar also raised several issues and emphasized on the Police department to ensure hassle free environment for the journalists during the coverage of elections. SSP Dr. Mishra assured that police would take appropriate steps so that the journalists would not face any problems. At the same time, he also emphasized on the media fraternity to steadfastly discharge their official duties as well as work in synergy with police to make Kathua free from drugs as well as crime. The meeting was attended by Joint Secretary Mohan Sharma, Vice Chairman Raj Kumar, Treasurer Prabu Dayal, Ravinder Slathia, Rakesh Sharma, Gurpreet Raina, Sonu Pandit, Kamaljit Singh, Raj kumar Raja, Vikas Pandit, Taranjeet Singh, Shivam, Shahid, Kajal Rajput, Prabash Kumar, BK Dogra, Rakesh Sambyal, Sachin Khajuria, Arun Trisal, Rajesh Thakur, Manish Khajuria, Pawan Kumar, Kuldeep Sharma, Shakti Sharma, Aditya verma, Pardeep Kumar and others.
