Crime Branch arrests 3 accused in fake appointments case

JAMMU, Nov 16: Crime Branch Jammu arrested two accused for their involvement in luring the complainant and other gullible people of UT of J&K and duping them of their hard earned money on the pretext of arranging government jobs, besides transfers and postings by issuing fake orders.
The accused identified as Rakesh Singh and Sudesh Singh, sons of Kehar Singh of Jattana Dey Kothey, Dehrian, Hamirpur Sidhar, Tehsil Khour & District Jammu were arrested in case FIR No. 04/2020 U/S 420, 465, 468 IPC of Police Station Crime Branch Jammu.
The accused were not cooperating in the investigation of the case and were constantly evading their arrest by frequently changing their locations. However, with meticulous planning, the agile team of Crime Branch Jammu laid a trap and after developing intelligence inputs regarding presence of the accused after effective coordination and cooperation through a reliable source the accused were arrested from their native village viz Deharian, Khour. Both the accused were produced before the Court of Law and their Police remand has been sought for further investigation.
Moreover, one more accused Suresh Singh son of Kehar Singh of Jattana Dey Kothey, Dehrian, Hamirpur Sidhar, Tehsil Khour & District Jammu was also arrested by Crime Branch team in case FIR No. 42/2019 U/S 419, 420, 120-B/RPC of Police Station Crime Branch Jammu for his involvement as co-accused. The prime accused of the case is Rakesh Singh, son of Kehar Singh, who had impersonated as RTO and lured the complainant and other gullible people of UT of J&K by issuing driving licenses with other offers.
Brief facts of the case are that a communication vide No. Edu/Tech/Phy/ 54/2018 dated 19-03-2018 made by Rajnish Kumar KAS Addl. Secretary to the Government was received in Crime Branch, wherein it was stated that the Directorate of Youth Services & Sports brought to the notice of this Department a Government order bearing No. 146-Edu(YSS) of 2017 dated 26-12-2017 regarding the transfer of teachers for authentication. As per their records, no such order has been issued by the Department and the order is fake and fictitious and needs an investigation.
On this preliminary verification was initiated and during the course of enquiry oral and documentary evidences was gathered and the allegations were substantiated. Accordingly, a formal case was registered in P/S Crime Branch, Jammu against the above mentioned accused persons for in-depth investigation.
