Jammu, Nov 16: Principal opposition party of the country, Congress landed in a difficult situation after J&K unit of the party has decided to fight District Development Councils (DDCs) elections as one of the constituent of the People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD).
On the one hand BJP is all-out to exploit Congress’s alliance with “anti-nationals” in J&K, the party (Congress) is facing revolt in many areas because as per agreement of the alliance many seats where Congress candidates are strongly are allocated to alliance partners like National Conference and PDP.
As some leaders of the PAGD have given “highly controversial and anti-national” statements, ruling BJP seized this opportunity to corner Congress at national level to expose principal opposition party for “joining hands with those who disrespect national flag” and “sought help from China to restore Article 370”.
On Monday, BJP launched all-out attack on Congress for joining hands with “anti-nationals” in J&K only to grab power. On the one hand Union Minister, Ravi Shanker Prashad launched a blistering attack on Congress, BJP’s outspoken spokesperson Sambit Patra was also offensive on the party (Congress) for “ganging” with anti-national.
“Congress has to explain whether the party is in favour of revocation of Article 370”, Prashad asked, adding, “it is surprising that the president of the National Conference, Farooq Abdullah, also sought the help of China for the restoration of Article 370”. Furthermore, he said statement made by PDP president Mehbooba Mufti on the national flag is unacceptable. The Union Minister also sought reply from Congress president Sonia Gandhi on agreeing to the Gupkar Declaration. Prasad said that the PAGD has a clear agenda to restore Section 370. Therefore, the Congress should answer that it stands with the integrity of the country or it has to side with the Gupkar Alliance.
