Pakistan violates unprovoked CFV in Tanghdar

KUPWARA, Nov 16: Army on Monday said that Pakistan initiated an unprovoked ceasefire violation along the Line of Control (LoC) in Tangdhar Sector of this north Kashmir district.
According to Srinagar based defence spokesperson, Col Rajesh Kalia, "Pakistan fired mortars and other weapons this evening, and own troops are giving them befitting response.
Sources said that the incident comes three days after five soldiers and four civilians were killed in multiple ceasefire violations along the LoC in the north Kashmir. Despite passing of three days, fear still looms large here.
Many people have shifted from here to other nearby places in Kupwara town, some have not yet come out of their homes, sources told early times.
They said that last time many houses got damaged, and dozens of people were injured who are being treated up in different hospitals.
It is pertinent to mention here that on November 13, Pakistan had resorted to heavy unprovoked ceasefire violation in multiple areas along the Line of Control (LoC) and with the result nine persons including 4 Indian soldiers and five civilian have lost their life while as many were injured.
Besides this many houses were damaged due to Pak shelling due to which panic has gripped in the area, after this unfortunate incident internet was shutdown in Kupwara town that was restored today.
The exchange of shelling took place in Kamalkote and Hajipir Sectors of Uri area, Nowgam, Tangdar, Gurez and other sectors of north Kashmir district, while many houses were also damaged in the exchange of fire.
Meanwhile sources said that security forces launched a cordon and search operation (CASO) in Amargrah area of Sopore town on Monday evening.
A joint team of army's 52RR, SOG, Police and CRPF cordoned off Amargrah area of Sopore and conducted house to house searches in the area, said sources.
They said that all the entry and exit points towards the area were sealed off by the security forces; cordon was launched following inputs about the presence of militants in the area, while the searches were going on in the area till the last reports came in.
