Early Times Report

Jammu, Nov 23: Keeping in view ‘revolt’ in some constituencies BJP has put onus on the senior leaders to ensure victory of party’s candidates for District Development Council (DDCs) elections in their respective areas.
This decision has taken after getting reports that some senior leaders are supporting rebel candidates as some ‘outsiders’ have been nominated as party’s official nominees by ignoring genuine workers.
Highly placed sources said that many senior leaders were annoyed over distribution of party mandates in the DDC elections because their loyalists were ignored and new entrants were given mandates. “There is feeling among leadership that annoyed leaders have potential to spoil chances of official candidates in their respe
Dissidents expelled from party
….Meanwhile the BJP, this afternoon, expelled party’s mandal president from Marh mandal Shakti Sharma and J&K vice president of Kissan Morcha, Harjeet Singh for supporting rebel candidate Balbir Lal, who is also expelled from the party.
Balbir Lal has filed his nomination papers as independent candidate from Marh constituency after most of the senior leaders and workers of Marh block opposed party’s official candidate.
Earlier party had expelled another Arun Sharma, who has decided to contest DDC elections in Samba district. Party’s another leader F C Bhagat has also announced to contest DDC election from Bishnah constituency.
tive areas so party has assigned responsibility to these leaders to ensure victory of BJP’s official candidates in their areas”, sources said, adding, “These annoyed leaders have been asked to campaign with party’s official candidates in their respective areas”.
As reported earlier by this newspaper, many deserving and dedicated workers were ignored only to adjust “influential’ candidates of other parties who have recently joined BJP. Due to this action of the party leaders, the ‘disciplined’ BJP is facing revolt ahead of the DDCs elections.
Instead of giving mandates to dedicated and committed workers, BJP leadership has given party tickets to some influential leaders with “money and muscle powers” who are habitual of joining one after another party.
