PAGD triggers ‘rebellion’ in NC, PDP, PC
11/23/2020 11:52:48 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Nov 23: The constitution of the so called Peoples Alliance for Gupkar Declaration or PAGD has seemingly triggered a “rebellion of sorts” in its key constituents, including the National Conference, the Peoples Democratic Party and the Peoples Conference.
Sources said the leaders of the PDP and the PC have rebelled against the top leadership of their respective parties for having been given mere four and two seats respectively for the ongoing District Development Council, and other polls, whereas NC leaders have questioned why even five-six seats were given to their rivals.
Sources said the rebellion within the PDP is so open that some of the leaders are contesting elections against the National Conference candidates even in Srinagar.
Sources said the PDP has been unable to make its contestants from Rawal Pora area of Srinagar withdraw from contesting elections against the NC candidate.
Sources said the PC leadership on the other hand has questioned that if the party did “much better than PDP” in the previous Parliament elections, what was the need to surrender the seats to the PDP, NC leaders.
Sources said what has even annoyed the leaders of such parties is the “body language of the NC leaders who pretend to be veterans of politics.”
“The way they (NC) behaved while giving meager share to other parties for seats, was as if, the grand old party was doing some favor to the others and this has hit the morale of the other party cadres,” said an insider.
Sources said some of the leaders have given ultimatum to the PDP and PC leadership to decided its fate in the PAGD or that they would “look for other options.”
Sources said both the PDP and PC leaderships have told their respective cadres to “bear with the situation till the elections get over.”
Despite repeated attempts the concerned leaders were not available for comments.
