JAMMU, Dec 8: The Department of Civil Engineering of Yogananda College of Engineering & Technology, Jammu Organized Power-Point Presentation on "World Soil Day". Very knowledgeable and exciting event on December, 2020 for 5th Semester students of all the branches Er. Rajnish Magotra HOD (Civil Engg) welcomed the guests and said that the prime aim of conducting this Event is to create awareness among the young budding engineers on importance of healthy soil as well as stress on the importance of sustainable management of soil resources. As the soil is considered as skin of the Earth, which is not composed of one element but complex mixture of minerals, water, air, organic matter and countless organisms. Which makes our soil very much fertile. During 2013, UN General Assembly Designated this date as the official World Soil Day. So, Steel Club selected a very Special theme for hosting Power Point Presentation on the topic "Keep Soil Alive, Protect Soil Biodiversity." During the event, detailed presentation, were given by the participants regarding the importance of maintaining healthy ecosystems and human well-being by addressing the growing challenges in soil management and preventing the soil biodiversity loss. Ten students participated in the event.
