Unlike Mehbooba, NC leadership avoids unnecessary confrontation with Centre
12/9/2020 12:00:44 AM
Early Times Report
jammu, Dec 8: Even as former chief minister and president of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mehbooba Mufti is availing all opportunities to attack Union Government and BJP on national and international issues, main constituent of Peoples Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD)- the National Conference leadership of reacting cautiously different current issues.
Unlike Mehbooba Mufti, NC leadership is avoiding reacting on issues which are irrelevant for the people of J&K. This new approach adopted by the NC leadership is an indication that the party is not ready to take confrontation with the Centre on irrelevant issues.
Ironically, Mehbooba Mufti tweeted on all issues from electoral defeat of Donald Trump to farmers' agitation just to attack BJP government at the Centre, NC leadership avoided reacting on irrelevant issues on social media just to behave with maturity.
Credible sources mature NC leadership is of the view that instead of unnecessary reacting on irrelevant issues just to demonize the Centre, it is better to react only on those issues which have direct link with J&K. While NC stalwart Dr Farooq Abdullah never reacts on social media, vice president of NC, Omar Abdullah is also very selective and cautious on reacting on different issues.
Mehbooba Mufti, on the other hand, reacted on regional, national and international issues only to demonize the Union Government.
Recently while reacting on farmers' issue, Mehbooba Mufti tweeted, "Farmers protests have brought Government of India to its knees.BJP is scared of peoples power & its why a reign of repression has been unleashed in J&K since Illegal abrogation of Article 370. Not allowing any peaceful medium for dissent shows their nervousness & failure on all fronts", she tweeted.
