Interactive session on preparing PPTs for online videos organized

JAMMU, Dec 8: An online interactive session was organized by Prof Neeru Sharma, Coordinator, National Resource Centre in Home Science, University of Jammu on Preparing PPTs for Online Videos, for the content writers of the online Annual Refresher Course in Home Science (ARPIT, SWAYAM), titled Professional Development of Home Science Faculty, awarded to the University of Jammu by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. The University and College SWAYAM Coordinators were also invited to join the session later on, as it was perceived as beneficial in enhancing their skills in Online Teaching, which they have been already doing during the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdown since March 2020. The event was arranged through Google meet and almost 104 persons registered for it, but the final attendance was averaged at 54.
The participants were from the length and breadth of the country, and two from other countries, including all the prestigious Home Science Institutions of the country
Dr Vimal Rarh, Coordinator, National Resource Centre of Chemistry, MHRD, Project Head & Joint Director, Guru Angad Dev Teaching Learning Centre of MHRD, Deputy Director, Centre for e-Learning, SGTB Khalsa College, University of Delhi, was the Chief Resource Person. She elaborated on her experience in production for ARPIT in Chemistry, coordinated by her, and gave very concrete suggestions for PPT preparation for online video production. She clarified many doubts of the content writers through her presentation and discussion. Prof Samridhi Arora, UGC SWAYAM Mentor, University of Jammu, coordinated the session. She pointed out the general mistakes, content writers make while preparing PPTs for online videos, which result in inability on the part of the readers to understand the content, especially if they are using the mobile app of SWAYAM.
