BJP using administration to browbeat Panthers: Harsh
12/13/2020 11:09:29 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT

RAMNAGAR, Dec 13: Accusing the administration of unleashing the policies of oppression and repression at the behest of BJP against the opposition parties particularly JKNPP, Harsh Dev Singh JKNPP Chairman and former Minister reprimanded the present regime for following two sets of norms in J&K, one for BJP and the other for opposition parties. “The democracy has been trampled by the BJP for quelling the voice of the people. The hunger for power has made BJP to go berserk with its frenzied goons causing unrest and insecurity among the people. Its high headed Ex-MLAs are abetting the commission of offences by using poor people over others. Ironically, the administration is acting as its stooge to execute the dirty plans”, said Harsh. He was addressing huge public meetings at Tagan, Sattian, Sulan, Kela, and Prey villages of Ramnagar DDC along with Party candidate Rampaul Bhagat.
Harsh Dev said that the BJP controlled administration had been indulging in persecution and harassment of NPP leaders for quite some time with a view to silence their voice against the govts omissions and commissions. “These more loyal than the king brand officers had booked several NPP activists and its leaders in the past in various frivolous cases only to please their political masters. And the recent episode wherein FIR was registered against Balwant Singh Mankotia for alleged violation of Model Code of Conduct in the DDC elections has further proved how the administration was being abused by the ruling party for promoting its politics of vendetta”, said Singh. Rebuking the BJP for unleashing the reign of terror in the entire Jammu province and Udhampur district in particular, Singh said that BJP which had become desperate and frustrated in view of the growing mass base of Panthers Party, had now resorted to browbeat the workers of the Panthers party activists.
“The NPP activists are being threatened, harassed and intimidated by the Ex-BJP MLA Ramnagar for exposing his acts of omissions and commissions committed during the last few years. The said Ex-MLA however crossed all limits of late when he along with his gun-men/PSOs pounced upon NPP leader Pawan Rassal and assaulted and manhandled him at Basantgarh in Ramnagar constituency. Moreover, the notorious Ex-MLA has been involved in various omissions and commissions and other corrupt practices which need to be probed by a high level investigating agency. The recent attack by BJP sponsored goons on Mrs. Manju Singh Panthers DDC candidate from Khoon at village Kail tells the sordid tale of how the democracy is crushed under Saffron rule. The Mahila Panther leader was dragged out from her vehicle, assaulted, abused and threatened by one of the drunk ruffians not to dare address the public meeting at the native village of said Ex-MLA.
The goon himself admitted that he was provided liquor by the said Ex-MLA who instigated him to commit the crime. Despite lodging FIR against the notorious Ex-MLA, he is still moving scot free”, rued Harsh.
Accusing the administration for providing huge security staff and escort vehicles to the BJP leaders in violation of SOPs, Singh castigated the authorities for withdrawing the security paraphernalia from the opposition leaders including the Panther leadership which had blown the concept of “level playing field” to winds.
