SRINAGAR, Dec 13: With 505 more virus affected patients being discharged from different hospitals today, the COVID-19 recovery rate in the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reached 94.39 percent. The mortality rate of the virus in the union territory is 1.55 percent.
As 382 new cases of virus were reported today the total number of positive cases reached 1, 16,008 in Jammu & Kashmir. With six deaths being reported in past 24 hours the number of casualties reached 1,799. Out of 1, 16,008 cases 1, 09,507 people have recovered so far.
Srinagar and Jammu districts each reported 98 fresh cases of Corona Virus followed by Kathua district 22 cases, Budgam district 21 cases, Baramulla district 20 cases, Pulwama district 18 cases, Shopian district 17 cases, Udhampur and Rajouri districts 14 cases each, Doda district 13 cases, Ganderbal district nine cases, Kishtwar district eight cases, Kupwara and Reasi districts six cases each, Samba district five cases, Bandipora district four cases, Kulgam and Ramban district three cases each, Anantnag district two cases and Poonch district one case.
Jammu district in the Jammu division reported three fresh COVID-19 deaths followed by a death each in Baramulla, Pulwama and Bandipora districts in the Kashmir valley. So far 1,151 virus related deaths have occurred in the Kashmir valley while as in Jammu division the number of such deaths is 648.
The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 382 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 184 from Jammu division and 198 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 1, 16,008. Also six COVID-19 deaths have been reported; three each from Jammu and Kashmir divisions.
Moreover, 505 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 267 from Jammu division and 238 from Kashmir division. Out of 1, 16,008 positive cases, 4,702 are active positive, 1, 09,507 have recovered and 1,799 have died; 648 in Jammu division and 1,151 in Kashmir division.
Out of 33, 45,171 test results available, 32, 29,163 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 8, 29,181 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 22,655 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 4,702 in isolation and 27,759 in home surveillance. Besides, 7, 72,266 persons have completed their surveillance period.
The bulletin said that Srinagar has 24,259 positive cases, 1,138 active positive, 22,688 recovered, 433 deaths; Baramulla has 7,737 positive cases, 213 active positive, 7,355 recovered, 169 deaths; Budgam has 7,311 positive cases, 300 active positive, 6,906 recovered, 105 deaths; Kupwara has 5,367 positive cases, 180 active positive, 5,099 recovered, 88 deaths; Pulwama has 5,294 positive cases, 173 active positive, 5,033 recovered, 88 deaths.
"Anantnag has 4,659 positive cases, 105 active positive, 4,472 recovered, 82 deaths; Bandipora has 4,537 positive cases, 107 active positive, 4,373 recovered, 57 deaths; Ganderbal has 4,352 positive cases, 121 active positive, 4191 recovered, 40 deaths; Kulgam has 2,627 positive cases, 67 active positive, 2,508 recovered, 52 deaths and Shopian has 2,431 positive cases, 108 active positive, 2,286 recovered, 37 deaths," reads the bulletin.
The bulletin said that Jammu has 22,170 positive cases, 776 active positive, 21,064 recovered, 330 deaths; Udhampur has 3,949 positive cases, 321 active positive, 3,575 recovered, 53 deaths; Rajouri has 3,702 positive cases, 239 active positive, 3,410 recovered, 53 deaths; Doda has 3,296 positive cases, 162 active positive, 3,076 recovered, 58 deaths; Kathua has 3,017 positive cases, 118 active positive, 2,854 recovered, 45 deaths.
"Kishtwar has 2,664 positive cases, 156 active positive, 2,487 recovered, 21 deaths; Samba has 2,623 positive cases, 213 active positive, 2,376 recovered, 34 deaths; Poonch has 2,420 positive cases, 30 active positive, 2,368 recovered, 22 deaths; Ramban has 2,031 positive cases, 70 active positive, 1940 recovered, 21 deaths and Reasi has 1,562 positive cases, 105 active positive, 1446 recovered, 11 deaths," reads the bulletin. Out of 1, 16,008 positive cases in J&K, 11,009 have been reported as travelers.
The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.
