JAMMU, Dec 13: Freedom Fighters Memorial Association (FFMA) on Sunday paid tributes to those who laid down their lives in the 2001 Parliament attack, in a function held at Dogra Shaurya Sthall, Ambphalla Jammu.
The programme was organized under the guidance of Ved Gandotra, Chairman of the Association.
On the occasion, Prof S.S Balwal was the Chief Guest, who said that the country will never forget the cowardly attack on our Parliament. "We recall the valour and sacrifice of those who lost their lives protecting our Parliament," he said, adding "A grateful nation will forever be indebted for their supreme sacrifice."
On December 13, 2001, five heavily-armed terrorists belonging to terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), stormed the Parliament complex in New Delhi and opened fire indiscriminately. Around 14 people, mostly security forces and one civilian, were killed in this incident.
Rajiv Mahajan, Vice Chairman said "We will never forget the cowardly attack on our Parliament on this day in 2001. We recall the valour and sacrifice of those who lost their lives protecting our Parliament. The nation will always be indebted to them."
