KULGAM, Dec 13: Acting tough against traffic violators, teams of MVD Kulgam under the supervision of ARTO, Dr Mohammad Zubair today seized over more than 20 vehicles for flouting different traffic rules in the district. The vehicles that were seized included three wheeler passenger autos and Tata Magics plying on different routes of the district.
The ARTO said that the drive is going on in view of the public complaints and grievances with regard to overloading, misbehavior, non availability of services at late hours, violation of routes, over charging, un-regulated movement and wrong parking, resulting in traffic jam in the town.
He further said that the department has withdrawn the hike of 30 percent in passenger fare from 01 December, 2020 and MVD Kulgam has also issued instructions to all the transport associations operating in the district to adhere to the instructions in letter and spirit or face action.
Dr Zubair said that such drives will continue till there is visible improvement on ground.
