Training for counting staff held at Kishtwar

KISHTWAR, Dec 17: A day long training session for the counting staff for District Development Council elections was today organised here under the overall supervision of District Panchayat Elections Officer, Ashok Sharma. Additional Deputy Commissioner, Pawan Parihar; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Dr Amir Hussain; Assistant Labour Commissioner, Anoop Kumar; DFO Division Marwah, Vijay Kumar; Master trainer, Girdhari Lal; Romesh Kumar, Shashi Kant, ENT Angreez Singh Jasrotia; besides other officials were present on the occasion. The counting of the votes of 14 DDC constituencies is scheduled on December 22, 2020 in the district at 05 designated counting venues Viz Kendriya Vidyalaya Kishtwar; GDC Kishtwar; HSS Paddar; SFC building Chatroo; HSS Dachhan and HSS Yourdoo Marwah.
The counting staff was imparted the training about various aspects of the counting process including , counting of postal ballots, opening of ballot boxes, mixing of the votes before counting, counting of votes, persons to be allowed inside counting centre , identification of valid and invalid votes and filling of round wise and table wise tabulation sheets. The training was held under the overall management of Nodal Officer Training Management, Anoop Kumar. The ADC also briefed the participants about various logistics and security arrangements and directed the counting staff to follow the set procedure while discharging their duty. Various situations of rejecting a vote as per election law were also discussed during the training. The ADC further urged the trainees to adhere to the COVID19 protocols and guidelines issued by Govt from time to time during the counting process.
The second batch of training session would be held tomorrow.
