EARLY TIMES REPORT

UDHAMPUR, Dec 17: Despite the strict guidelines issued by the election authorities regarding maintaining secrecy while casting a vote, violation of such instructions is repeatedly being committed during the ongoing DDC poll process.
In yet another case of clicking the picture of stamped ballot paper, a person made it viral on social media in district Udhampur without caring for the rules pertaining to the right to franchise.
However, the person who had posted the picture on social media platforms may have deleted it now as it is not visible anymore yet the screen shots for the offence committed are preserved by several including this scribe.
This time the violation has taken place in Udhampur-II elections constituency voting for which was held in the seventh phase of these DDC elections yesterday.
The violator had stamped on BJP election symbol and posted it on Facebook wherein the picture was captioned as ‘voted for development’.
Earlier, in a similar incident during the sixth phase of DDC elections on December 13 a voter made his choice of voting public by posting a picture of the same on social media platforms. The incident was from a polling station in Jaganoo area of Udhampur district. The act invited strict warning from the District Magistrate who reprimanded the wrong doing.
Ironically, such incidents are taking place since these elections are being conducted under the strict vigilance and even media cameras were not allowed inside the voting room.
