Arrangements for counting of DDC election votes discussed

UDHAMPUR, Dec 18: The arrangements for the smooth conduct of counting of District Development Council Election 2020 Votes in the District Udhampur were today reviewed by District Panchayat Election Officer, Dr Piyush Singla, here at a meeting of designated ROs, AROs and Nodal officers.
Detailed discussions were held on seating arrangement, barricading, security, traffic regulation, drinking water and power supply, sanitation, Static Surveillance Team, first-aid, display of round wise result, deployment of duty magistrates etc at the counting centre(s) .
The DPEO directed the executive engineers of PHE, R&B and PDD to ensure adequate arrangements of barricading, seating and drinking water besides uninterrupted power supply on the day of counting.
The Executive Officer, Municipality was asked for proper cleanliness at the venue and Chief Medical Officer was asked to deploy staff and medicines at counting site. District Police and Traffic Police were asked to make foolproof security and traffic regulation arrangements.
The DPEO said that the counting process will commence from 9 AM onwards at three different locations of the District Udhampur viz Government Degree College Boys, Government Degree College for Women and Kendriya Vidyalaya Chenani. Designated Nodal officers of all three locations briefed about the counting arrangements made at their respective site.
The DPEO asked the teams constituted for counting of votes to follow the set procedure while discharging their duty. The DPEO said that control room will be set up for the smooth flow of information at the venue.
Among others present were Additional District Development Commissioner, Ashok Kumar; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mohammad Syed Khan; SDM Chenani Abdul Satar; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Viqar Giri; Deputy District Election Officer, Dr Shavi; SDM Basantgarh Vivek Modi; District Information Officer, Er.Sajad Bashir Somberia and other officers of various departments were present in the meeting.
