Jammu, Dec 18: Government Degree College (GDC) Akhnoor organized a webinar on the topic “Academic Stress Management: An indispensable concern for Teachers, Students and Parents”.
The online event was initiated with the constant support and encouragement of Principal Dr. Namarta Madam. Prof. Pooja Devi, Assistant Professor, Coordinator of Psychological Counseling Cell organized and coordinated the entire program which focused on the various practices in the management of the academic stress during this pandemic.
At the beginning, Dr. Aksa Rao, Sr. Assistant Professor hosted the entire event. Opening remarks for the webinar was given by Principal Dr. Namarta. She highlighted the challenges of Digital learning and home-schooling for parents, teachers as well as students. Dr. Piyali Arora, Sr. Assistant Professor, Department of Psychology, GCW Parade was the dignitary invited as a resource person for the webinar.
She articulated her thoughts at the emergence of academic stress faced by students in virtual classrooms during the COVID -19 outbreaks along with parental expectation and competitive environment. She discussed in detail about the coping strategies to deal with it. The webinar was attended by Faculty members and students from different colleges of J&K UT as well as parents. The webinar was concluded by Prof. Pooja Devi, Head, Department of Education with the formal vote of thanks.
The Webinar served as a great tool for the participants who got the opportunity to know about the various techniques to manage and overcome the stress.
