| Amit Sharma receives Agni Award | | |

Jammu, Dec 21: Amit Sharma, Director and Cyber Advisor, Defence Research and Development Organisation has received the prestigious Agni Award for Self-Reliance from Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.
He is the youngest awardee to receive the award in the cyber security domain. A resident of UT of Jammu and Kashmir and son of Prof S D Sharma of Jammu University, he has made the entire country and the UT of Jammu and Kashmir proud.Amit is actively associated with the Kalam Centre for Science & Technology (KCST) at Central University of Jammu. Amit is the nodal person at DRDO for KCST.
He is also member of advisory committee & Court member of Central University of Jammu. Vice Chancellor of Central University Professor Ashok Aima congratulated Amit on behalf of CUJ for his achievement. He was also Awarded Special Award for Strategic Contribution for the year 2012 by the Defence Minister and has been part of the Indian delegation in UN for deliberations in UN GGE and UN OEWG. He was awarded dissertation prize for his monograph “The Art of Cyber wars” at the UK Defence Academy in 2009. He is also Awarded Special Award for Strategic Contribution for the year 2012 by the Defence Minister.
