EARLY TIMES REPORT

Jammu, Dec 21: More worries ahead for PDP president and former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti as central agencies detained her maternal uncle Sartaz Madni and her most-confident Peerzada Mansoor Hussain in a money laundering case related to terror funding.
After the arrest of her another close-confident Wahid Parra last month by the NIA, Mehbooba is adopting every pressure tactic to black-mail the Union Government led by BJP. With the detention of Madni and Peerzada Mansoor one thing has become clear that Mehbooba’s black-mail tactics failed to yield any result.
Although higher-ups are tight-lipped over the case in which the duo was detained, reliable sources told Early Times they were detained after Wahid Parra have made some startling disclosure during interrogation. “Central agencies are questioning both Madni and Mansoor”, sources said and added that a real picture will emerge on Tuesday. Reacting strongly against action of the government Mehbooba tweeted, “Total lawlessness as PDPs Sartaj Madni & Mansoor Hussain have been arbitrarily detained today on the eve of DDC election results.
Every senior police officer here is clueless as it is ‘upar say order’. No rule of law in J&K anymore. It is out & out Gunda Raj”.
Reliable sources said that after exposing Abdullahs’ corruption cases, central agencies were working assiduously to expose PDP leaders’ link with terror outfits. Arrest of Parra followed by detention of Madni and Mansoor is a clear indication that the Centre is not ready to succumb to pressure tactics of Mehbooba Mufti.
Madni and Mansoor are close-confident of Mehbooba Mufti. After the death of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, Madni managed all affairs in PDP while Mansoor was ex-political advisor of Mehbooba Mufti when he was chief minister.
