NGO organizes awareness drive

Jammu, Dec 21: An awareness drive on plastic waste segregation under Swachhta Pakhwada 2020, Unnat Bharat Abhiyan at adopted village Sehora was organised by Kujan NGO in collaboration with NCC Cadets of GCW Gandhi Nagar 2J&K Girls BN NCC in ward 5,6,7 in coordination with Naib Sarpanch Gurunam Singh.
Wherein 43 cadets along with team leaders UO Shriya Gupta and UO Aparna Sharma from NCC participated under the leadership of Capt. Shivani Sharma and C/T Suman Bala, under the patronage of Dr Sangita Nagari, Principal GCW Gandhinagar Jammu.
Guntaas Singh, Kavyam Mahajan, Aashman Mahajan, Nandita Gupta, Keshav Sabharwal and Mehak Rao Sathe participated in the drive under the leadership of Guneet Singh, Founder, Kujan NGO.
Monika Jamwal, (Educationist and Social Activist) and Raminder Pal, (Industrialist) were part of the drive too.
During the welcome address, Guneet Singh, Founder Kujan NGO appraised all about the importance of plastic waste segregation in today’s scenario. The welcome address was followed by Anuradha Gupta (Scientist, Pollution Control Board, Jammu) who at length discussed the importance of composting and its practical application in the village scenario.
Sohail Kazmi ( Editor in Chief, Daily Taskeen )also appreciated the efforts of NCC cadets, Kujan Volunteers and villagers who together came forward for curbing the plastic menace . Also , Raghubir Singh ( SHO Gangyal) joined the event, Thanks to Gangyal Police Station for providing protection for the students.
The formal vote of thanks was delivered by Capt. Shivani Sharma and Raminder Pal Singh wherein they thanked the sarpanch, village people, Kujan NGO and NCC Cadets for their motivation and dedication and urged them to continue such drives in future .
The drive was sponsored by Raminder Paul Govt. Contractor in which 50+ Bags of waste plastic was given to Swachhtaa Kendra for further Segregation and recycling of plastic waste which would be further reused, special thanks to Sanjeev Arora, Amiya Verma, Rajat Sharma and Team RUDA.
