NGO volunteers distribute warm clothes among slum dwellers

Jammu, Dec 21: The Volunteers of People’s Hut Foundation (NGO) on Sunday distributed warm clothes such as sweaters, jackets, blankets etc. to the underprivileged people residing in the slum areas of Jammu under its Community Clothing Program initiative.
According to Dr. Rohit Koul, Director and CEO of the NGO, 1500 clothes which included Sweaters, Jackets, Trousers and Blankets were collected by a team of People’s Hut Foundation from different areas of district Jammu and today these were distributed to the needy.
Vikas Pandita urged all people of Jammu and Kashmir to come forward for the help of the poor to cope with the increasing winter chill. He was accompanied by Vikas Koul, Advisor of the NGO and Sumit Khar and Ashish Sharma, Team Members People’s Hut Foundation along with other members and NSS Volunteers.
Dr. Rohit Koul added that there are thousands of other people also who are homeless, and these are mostly migrants and labourers earning a livelihood in the city and there’s an immediate need for proper facilities like quilts, drinking water, fire-woods and toilets etc. for them. Also increased night patrol by the police should be implemented to check on these people,”
