Jammu, Dec 21: The Jammu Municipal Corporation has in its initiative to make Jammu City clean and free from Plastic waste & litter, installed PET Bottle crusher machines in Bahu Temple Parking, inside Gandhi Nagar Gurudwara, at General Bus Stand and in Hari Market which were dedicated to the public by Jammu Municipal Corporation. JMC Commissioner Avny Lavasa, (IAS), apprised that more such machines shall be installed across Jammu City in busy market areas, public places, shopping malls, Bus Stand, Railway Station and religious places for proper disposal of plastic waste. She further added that these machines will help a lot to dispose of the plastic waste in a perfect way to also to make the Jammu City plastic free. The Commissioner, JMC appealed to the public to come forward and extend a helping hand to JMC’s drive to make the city clean & litter free by ensuring the re-use of the plastic products and make efforts to properly dispose-off the plastic waste for re-cycle. She further appealed that PET Plastic Bottle Crusher Machines are meant to dispose off plastic only and other things made of iron, mirror, metal etc. should not be put in the machines, as this effort of JMC will help a lot in getting rid of plastic waste.
