JAMMU, Dec 25: Former Deputy Chief Minister J&K and senior BJP leader, Kavinder Gupta paid tributes to former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his 96th birth anniversary and celebrated his birth anniversary as 'Good Governance Day' in the winter capital Jammu.
Kavinder said that the services delivered and exceptional devotion to the duty of nation by the former PM late Atal would be centre of inspiration for every citizen of India. "Atal ji initiated politics based on ideology and dedicated his whole life for the service of the nation and also started an era of good governance, welfare and development of the nation," Kavinder said.
"Known for his political acumen, Atal proved that he had a deep sense of economic foresight when he started his ambitious Golden Quadrilateral project. He is credited with doing all the groundwork that pitch forked Indian economy with a sustained growth year after year," he said, adding that the few Indian Prime Ministers have left such a historic legacy. His presence in Parliament during debates meant that the reply or the intervention will have all the elements of his trademark style and demeanor. "He was opposition leader for 40 long years, but that length of time didn't leave any regrets or frustration. Rather it enriched him with friends and admirers spanning across the political spectrum. Even the most vocal BJP opponents deployed carefully drafted words bordering on silent admiration when they had to give opinion on him," Kavinder said
Among other who paid tributes to former Prime Minister include Vinay Gupta BJP District President, Ankush Gupta General Secretary, Neeraj Puri Mandal President, Narinder Koki Secretary, Corporator Rahul Kumar, and others.
