Leh, Dec 25: Krishi Vigyan Kendra, SKUAST-K Leh organized webcast of the address of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the birth anniversary of Late Prime Minister of country A. B. Vajpayee. The programme organized at the training hall of KVK-Leh, Stakna was attended by many farmers, farm women, youths, students and entrepreneurs from adjoining villages of Leh district. On this occasion, Prime Minister also transferred Rs. 18000 crores to 9 crore beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PMKISAN). Prime Minister also interacted with farmers from seven states and also discussed the Farm Acts 2020. Earlier Union Agriculture Minister, Narendra Singh Tomar in his inaugural address briefed the farming community about the various initiatives taken by the present government for the welfare of farm sector. Dr. Parveen Kumar, SMS (Agriculture Extension) elaborated that under PMKISAN rupees six thousand per year in three instalments of rupees two thousand each is being credited directly into the account of the farmers. He also gave a detailed lecture on the various schemes of the government viz PMKSY, Kisan Credit Card, PM Fasal Bima Yojana and urged farmers to take benefit of these schemes by getting themselves registered through Banks and agricultural department. Dr. Feroz Din Sheikh, Sr. Scientist and Head KVK Leh also spoke on the occasion. He told that the said programme is being webcast all over the country for the farmers to have direct interaction with farmers. |
