Kishtwar, Dec 29: The long wait of the people of Gonuni, Kahara Tehsil of Sub Division Thatri in Doda District are all set to get electricity connectivity for the first time since independence of the country by January 15,2021.
As per the details available with Early Times, as a part of commitment made by the Lt. Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha, acting upon the directions of DDC Doda Dr Sagar D Doifode, SDM Thathri Athar Amin Zargar today visited Gonuni Tanta village of Kahara Tehsil aimed heavy snowfall with the commitment to implement the commitment made by the LG that the said area will get an electricity by January 15,2021 under any circumstances.
During the visit SDM Thathri who reach the village after tracking 32 KM by foot despite heavy snowfall in the area meet the locals and apprised them that district administration under the able guidance of DDC Doda will leave no stone unturned to provide the electricity to the people of the Gonuni hamlet of Tanta village under stipulated time frame, besides informed them that action plan has already been finalized by the District Administration in coordination with Jammu and Kashmir Power Development Corporation limited (JKPDCL) and Shalaka company officials- company assigned the contract for electrification of the village to ensure the electricity in the households of the respective area in a time frame set by the government.
It has been given out by the SDM that transportation of electric poles have been started, besides digging has already been started by the concerned agency at the respective sites.
“There are about six hundred families in the area — only 70 are electrified - while rest of 530 families are unelectrified — we are committed to give rest of the 530 families electricity by Jan 15,2021” SDM Thatri told Early Times.
SDM Thathri was accompanied by Tehsildar Kahara, TSO Kahara, Officials of Shalaka, JPDCL, R&B besides other concerned officials who also listen to the grievances of the local people and assured them
That all the issues raised by them will be addressed in shortest possible time frame.
