Separate homeland emerging consensus among exiled KPs
12/29/2020 11:34:59 PM

Early Times Report

JAMMU, Dec 29: The separate homeland is emerging as a consensus among almost all Kashmiri Pandit (KP) organisations for the honourable and dignified rehabilitation of exiled community in Kashmir Valley.
Though the slogan of a separate homeland was given 30 years back on December 28 in 1991 by Panum Kashmir through Margdarshan resolution and some of the other organisations of the community did not find favour the demand at that time saying entire Kashmir belongs to the community, with the passage of time almost all Kashmiri Pandit organisations in India or abroad have reached at a consensus that rehabilitation of over seven lakh Kashmiri Pandits is not possible except a separate homeland in Valley.
This was also reiterated by the KP organisations other than PK while observing homeland day on Monday. Though PK held a webinar on Homeland day and reiterated the demand by rejecting settlement of Pandits in clusters, district headquarters or ancestral villages. The PK reiterated that separate homeland with UT status is the only viable solution to their problem and silencing the voice of separatists and anti national elements supported by Pak.
Not only PK but All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference (ASKPC) which was earlier opposed to the demand later supported carving out of a separate State within Valley for resettlement of Pandits there.
In addition to it Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) is also demanding carving out of Kashyap State for rehabilitation of Pandits in Valley.
The support to homeland demand has come from various KP organisations in different parts of country and abroad and they have impressed the Modi Government to consider this demand for the greater national interests and for preservation of an ancient civilization of India.
According to sources some well meaning KP socio political activists are also working on a formulla to bring all KP organisations on one platform to put the homeland demand forcefully before the Government.
Sources said these leaders have decided to first meet KP leadership in Jammu and then contact the leaders of other KO organisations in Jammu and other parts of country.
Even if need be they will solicit support of KP bodies abroad also in this regard.
