Jammu, Dec 29: The Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Yogananda College of Engineering and Technology (YCET) under the Institution’s Innovation Cell (IIC) organizes a webinar on “Entrepreneurship” on 28th December, 2020 for all students of CSE/IT.
Entrepreneurship, the word "Entrepreneur" comes from the French verb entreprendre, meaning "to undertake" is the ability and readiness to develop, organize and run a business enterprise, along with any of its uncertainties in order to make a profit. It’s about building a life on your own terms. No bosses, no restricting schedule and no one holding you back.
The session began with welcome address by Er. Dinesh Gupta, HoD (CSE/IT) and President of IIC Cell, YCET. The resource person was Dr. Vijayendra Singh Sankhla. He is presently working as Associate Professor and IIC Ambassador at Geetanjali Institute of Technical Studies, Dabok, Udaipur.
He has 12 years of teaching experience.
He has more than 25 publications in various Science Direct, Scopus and International Journals. He has done his Ph.D. in Renewable Energy Engineering from MPUAT, Udaipur which is best university in North India in the field of renewable energy engineering. He is also working as Vice Head and M. Tech. coordinator in the department of Mechanical Engineering.
Dr. Vijayendra Singh Sankhla briefed the students how to become an Entrepreneur. He gave an example of Thomas Edison that he had done more than 100 experiments to develop the light bulb. Edison believed that to discover a good idea one had to generate many ideas, so in order to become the entrepreneur there is need of Viability (ability to work & survive), Desirability (ability to Generate Demand) and Feasibility (ability to be conveniently done).
Further, Dr. Vijayendra Singh Sankhla told that it is not easy task to become an Entrepreneur because in this one has to think 24 hrs to develop new innovation ideas. The students were fortunate to have got the chance to attend this session for increasing their knowledge and creative extravagance along with the expert. The guests remained highly commemorative of the efforts for organizing session.
Prof. (Dr.) A. K. Srivastava, Director, YCET addressed the students and emphasized that it is not an easy task to become an Entrepreneur and hence think about it seriously and then take a decision. Also this session will provide very helpful knowledge to students to understand the process of becoming an Entrepreneur.
The session was coordinated by Er. Robin Kumar, Coordinator, CSE/IT Deptt. The session ended with a vote of thanks by Er. Anshuman Sehgal, Assistant Professor, YCET.
