| NSS volunteers receive prestigious Commendation Certificates | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 2: Three NSS Volunteers from GDC Basohli Ashish Sharma, Mohit Verma and Narinder Singh have been awarded with prestigious Vice Chancellor Commendation Certificate for the year 2019-20.
The certificate is issued yearly for the extraordinary contribution made by the NSS volunteers in the field of social service in addition to the regular activities.
Dr. P.K. Rao, Principal GDC Basohli extended heartiest congratulations to the Volunteers and Programme Officer, Prof. Rakesh Singh for this great achievement which is first of its kind in the history of GDC Basohli. He further stressed upon other Volunteers to keep this good practice continuing in future so that the name of GDC Basohli keeps shining.
It is pertinent to mention that NSS unit of GDC Basohli under the supervision of Programme Officer, Prof. Rakesh Singh has been active in the field of social cause. It is due to the hard work put by the volunteers and other team members that three volunteers have been awarded with this prestigious Award.
Volunteers of GDC Basohli have represented the State at National Level on various occasions by participating in National Camps like National Integration Camp held at Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan and Jammu, Youth Festival Sangam held at Bhaderwah.
In addition to this, volunteers have also participated in various Special Camps, Awareness Programmes, Cleanliness Drives, Blood Donation Camps. Prof. Rakesh Singh congratulated all the volunteers for this success. He said, "This is a great moment for GDC Basohli as for the first time any Nss volunteer from this college has been awarded with this prestigious award. These Volunteers will be role models for the coming generation and will contribute to the development of the society." |
