Early Times Report
jammu, Jan 2: At a time, when an event in one corner of the world reaches to other within seconds and any latest online update becomes old within seconds, the latest updates for the Department of Higher Education are from the year 2018.
Moreover, despite the fact that Lieutenant Governor MK Sinha is the second Lieutenant Governor of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir after GC Murmu but not a single update about the LGs have found place on the official website of the department so far.
As per the official website of JK Higher Education department, in the section "Latest Updates", there is one news report from the year 2018, which reads, "December 8, 2018: Govt. College for Women, M A Road, Srinagar hosted the Valedictory-cum-prize distribution function of the 2nd Sports Festival of Cluster University Srinagar. Advisor to Hon'ble Governor, Jenab Khursheed Ahmad Ganai was the chief guest on the occasion...".
Pertinently, Khursheed Ahmad Ganai was advisor to SP Malik and Malik had handed over the charge to first Lieutenant Governor of JK GC Murmu on 31st October 2019.
Despite the fact that former LG GC Murmu as well as new LG MK Sinha has taken several initiatives for the promotion of Higher Education as well as department's promotion in Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory but the department's website has so far not found any space for the LG's.
Moreover, at the face of the site, there are some photographs, which appear one by one as someone visits the website, recording the activities of Secretary Higher Education that too from the year 2018. Moreover one photograph in the series reads, "1st International Conference on Recent Developments in Science, Humanities & Management-2018 (ICRDSHM-18) held at Amar Singh College Srinagar".
Though the department's website has been found updating the orders, notifications and circulars but only selectively as according to sources just few of the orders have been updated while many orders especially the transfer orders, which expose the repeated transfers of few blue-eyed teachers, have not been updated on the website.
Moreover in the section, "New Initiatives", the website shows the reports from the year 2017, in which photographs of the then Higher Education Minister as well as the then Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti as well as Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh could be found updated.
