DDC contestants, Sarpanchs among others join BJP in Kulgam

JAMMU, Jan 2: Senior BJP leader and party spokesperson Dr Darakhshan Andrabi today attended and addressed many programmes in Qazigund and Devsar blocks of Kulgam district. She was accompanied by Kulgam BJP district President Aabid Hussain Khan. Dr Andrabi attended the Oath Ceremony of newly elected Qazigund Municipal Committee members including the BJP members. DR Andrabi later held a meeting with the newly elected BJP members and asked them to work like public servants and devote their lives to the public welfare.
Dr Darakhshan also addressed public gathering at Bonigam which was attended by a huge population of the area. She was accorded a warm welcome by the locals. Here she inducted six DDC independent contestants of the district among whom four contestants ended up runner-ups in the recently held elections into BJP. She applauded these youth leaders including Fayyaz Ahmad and Waheed Ahmad Dar from Devsar, Suhail Ahmad Khan and Rouf Ahmad from Frisal & Kulgam for choosing BJP as their political group. She also inducted four Sarpanchs, eight Panchs and forty other political workers from other parties into BJP. Speaking on the occasion Dr Darakhshan Andrabi said that the youth of Kashmir are slowly but tremendously realizing that J&K BJP only can play the constructive and creative politics in J&K. Addressing the rally Dr Darakhshan Andrabi said, “Government’s promise of a corruption free J&K can only be made a reality with the help of the local population. Those who ruled us in the past have undoubtedly end up in jails because they have run the state violating all norms and government working systems. I appeal to all the people to make the public representatives from Punch to a tall bureaucrat and a politician of any category accountable by raising voices as now voices of this kind will definitely be heard.”
Dr Darakhshan also visited the local dargah at Nawa Gundipora and inspected the arrangements and the management of the shrine. She met many senior citizens at the shrine. Dr Darakhshan later addressed a local gathering at Berigam village. She met many women of the area during her door-to door campaign there. She assured the people of party’s complete support in redressing the public issues and creating of facilities for their better living.
